With it being flu season we could only have a certain number of visitors at a time. And no children. Which BROKE my heart that my niece Zoe couldn't come meet her new cousin. She was so excited. She ended up calling me crying. I felt so bad. But I told her as soon as we get home she is coming over.
Grandma Karie and Aunt Kathy came next. It was fun for Grandma Karie to show off her first grand baby. Aunt Angi and Uncle Brian had to wait til they got off from work but they came right over. Brian was too nervous to hold Sadie which we understand. That's how Kris was with other peoples newborns. So Aunt Angi got her all to herself.
Next up was our very best friends. Aunt Sheena, Uncle Cody, Aunt Liss and Uncle Blake. I was so exhausted by this point. But it was so fun seeing my friends love on Sadie. That was the last of our visitors.
That second night in the hospital was a long night. I was still on no sleep from sunday night. I was exhausted. So was Kris. He finally gave up and went to sleep he was starting to feel super sick so I just called the nurse if I needed anything. But then Sadie started screaming and wouldn't stop we didn't know what to do. I felt so bad. Kris went out to get one of the nurses and she came in and asked me if I would be ok giving Sadie some formula. I said 'Of course!' so she rigged up this tubing device and taped it on me so Sadie would think she was nursing but really she was getting the formula. She quieted right down. She was starving. I felt so bad. After she ate she went right back to sleep.
Around 2 am the nurse came in and said that they have to take her to get tests done. I made Kris wake up and go with her. Which he was glad he did. They tested her hearing and then they took her blood from her little heal and that took like five minutes. She just cried and cried. I'm thankful I didn't have to go. Kris was a champ!
The next morning it was time to take her home. I totally could have stayed one more night. But Kris was ready to go home. We packed her in her car seat. She looked so tiny. I wanted to sit in the back seat with her. She didn't know what to think of the ride home but quickly fell asleep.
It was nice to be home once I got there. Kris went and got my prescriptions then we were locked in. We both took naps with her. Much needed naps. ha. But then Zoe and Jeremy came over. I was so excited to introduce Sadie to her cousins. They will be the bestest of friends!! Zoe couldn't believe it. She loved her. Jeremy couldn't wait to hold her. They both couldn't stop looking at her and "petting her"
It was worth the wait!! I totally cried... And I think Sally did too. HAHA.
